The Desert Museum! Wildlife Reserve.

The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is a 98-acre zoo, aquarium, botanical garden, natural history museum, publisher, and art gallery founded in 1952.

The 98 acre Desert Museum is a fusion experience: zoo, botanical garden, art gallery, natural history museum, and aquarium.

Throughout the zoo you will find 230

animal species spread-out among the 2-

miles of walking paths.

Below you will find a few of the local residents that are always happy to see visitors.

A Bighorn Sheep Calf was born over the weekend of 3/25/2017 & 3/26/2017. I was lucky enough to visit the museum right after it was born to watch it jumping around with all its newborn energy!

1,200 types of plants can be seen throughout the museum - 56,000 individual specimens are spread out along walkways & within controlled environments.

It will be difficult to see everything this museum has to offer in one day. I do suggest planning your day or making it a multi day trip to see as much as possible.

The museum offers sun block in the bathrooms, many shaded resting area's and water fountains to help with the hot dry climates found in Tucson. It will all be needed, stay aware of the time.

I hope you enjoy your trip to this magical place as much as I have, many times, over the past year!

-Billy
